Solomon Sevinc’s humble beginning took place in Izmir, Turkey where he started his life in sales by selling plastic bags and shoes at a very young age of 5. His mother weaved rugs and carpets with bare hands that were sold in the market. Having learned the skills of a tradesman at the age of 20, Solomon decided to sell his mother’s handmade rugs in the Turkish markets himself. Years later, he moved to Sydney, Australia where he would start a family but along came his passion to persevere in the rug industry even in foreign lands. For what used to be a small tent in street markets, it was then turned into a mobile rug store known as Antique Oriental Rugs where he travelled all over Australia showcasing the magnificent and traditional carpet designs of Persia, Afghanistan and Turkey.
