Shelston IP has a proud 150-year history of providing trusted advice to our clients, assisting them to transform their unique ideas into marketable products and services, against an increasingly complex IP landscape. The firm acquired the practices of Sturt Griffith in 1977 and Starfield & Taylor in 1983. In 1998, Shelston Waters became associated with a New Zealand firm and commenced trading under the name Baldwin Shelston Waters. When that association ended in 2004, the firm rebranded as Shelston IP. In 1999, an associated law firm, now known as Shelston IP Lawyers, was established to specialise in IP commercialisation and litigation, and related aspects of commercial and corporate law. Shelston IP also opened offices in Newcastle, New South Wales, in 2000, and in Brisbane, Queensland, in 2005, to service our growing client base in these important locations.
